Research Innovation Services aims to deliver research and knowledge transfer objectives set out in the University Plan and contribute expertise and guidance across the full spectrum of the University's research and innovation activities.

The five sections are supplemented by the Business Development Network, which is coordinated from RIS.

EPS Germinator

Applications are invited for awards under the Engineering and Physical Sciences Germinator Scheme. The scheme provides for the funding of an experienced external business mentor to assist with the commercialisation of projects with an engineering or physical sciences background. Closing date for entries is January 9th 2009, and applications should be written in conjunction with a Business Development Executive. Innovation Fellowships

The 14th Call for Innovation Fellowships is now open. Awards of typically up to £15k are available to progress projects with commercial applications. Closing date for receipt of applications is December 19th, with Expressions of Interest from University of Nottingham applicants are to be sent electronically to Heather Young by 28th November.

Knowledge Transfer Competition December 2008

As part of the University's commitment to knowledge transfer, a £200K fund has been allocated to a third round of Knowledge Transfer Awards. Projects (max value £25K) should be developmental rather than research, and be specific enabling activities which are deliverable by end July 2009.
